What does astrology say about God and humans?
A juicy philosophical riff on astrology and Christianity
vol. 2 patron episode 3
Greetings,
This patron-subscribers-only outtake features a juicy philosophical run of thoughts to do with the nature of God as expressed through astrology.
Although as a medical and horary astrologer, I continue to use the so-called “quadrant-based” house systems necessary for these astrology specialties, I prefer the Whole Sign House system for my personal readings. Why is that?
For me, as you will hear in this outtake, it comes down to my primary interest being about how to leverage astrology as a spiritual tool over and above a psychological one, although I view all spirituality as ultimately being about the psychological anyway; I am in agreement with other teachers of mine on that.
Still, as Elisabeth makes plain in this outtake, modern psychological astrology is deeply meaningful to people who wonder, “Why am I like this?” And I get that, too. There is comfort in knowing that there was a bigger design in mind when we got wired the way we got wired.
What I think is exciting about this conversation is that it had never occurred to me before the role of Christianity’s rise in the demise of the pantheism inherent to Whole Sign Houses. And so, this outtake is as much a riff on my on-the-fly insights into how Christianity and Pantheism or at the very least, a breakdown of monotheism, is playing out through the in-fighting over which house system is best in astrology, and whether alternative ways of experiencing spirituality is compatible with Christianity in America today.
